This page describes the current TinyGarage development build. It will be updated as the app changes.

Collection data on your device

Collection records, photos, loaded catalogs and local backups are stored in the app’s container on your device. Your display name and app preferences are also stored locally. TinyGarage does not require an account and has no developer-run collection server, advertising SDK or third-party analytics tracker.

Photos and packaging scans

You choose photos through the system photo picker or take a photo with the camera after granting permission. Selected photos are copied into your collection. Packaging text and barcode recognition use Apple’s Vision framework on your device; TinyGarage does not send those images to a remote recognition service.

Files and optional backups

CSV imports read the file you select. Barcode matches are looked up in loaded catalogs on your device. CSV exports, full backups and collection-with-photos exports are written to the destination you choose. Full backups include collection records, photos, catalogs and exact-variant links, so choose carefully where to store or share them.

If you enable automatic folder backup, TinyGarage retains access to the chosen folder and writes full backup copies while running. For iCloud Drive or another cloud-provider folder, that provider handles upload and storage under its own settings and policies. TinyGarage does not confirm whether an upload has completed, and this feature does not synchronize your live collection between devices.

You can disconnect the backup folder in Settings → Import & Backup. Disconnecting stops future writes; existing files remain in the chosen location until you delete them.

Retention and removal

You can edit or delete collection records in the app. Earlier local or exported backups may still contain those records. The app retains ten rolling local backups and may preserve a file before a restore. Deleting the app removes its local data; exported copies and external folder backups must be managed separately in Files or with your storage provider.

Support email

If you contact support, your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send are received to respond to your request. Avoid including private collection records or photos unless they are needed to explain an issue.
